Okay, since December of 07 I've been aware of a manga adaption of James Patterson's Maximum Ride series. I had just forgotten the when and by who. Apparently the new American serialized magazine YenPlus(+) started off with it inside. Thanks to Robert and Jamie for informing me! XD

OMG! I just finished reading Maximum Ride: Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports. So good! James Patterson, you are truly an emperor of author-dom. I kinda wish that it would end with three, but there seems to be a fourth do out next spring, AND! .....
